The Encyclopedia of Alcohol is the English-language version for the European Union version of the German-language ALEX alcohol-encyclopedia. Here generally comprehensibly terms and connections are to be described to the alcohol topic, in particular for the purpose of education and further training.
Besides interdisciplinary co-operation between chemists, the medical profession, lawyers and other fields is to be facilitated, as the technical terms are made more transparent, as well as contacts between authorities, organizations and companies as well as others with the alcohol problem employed persons to be facilitated. The European Union there are still existing differences between the individual member countries, in particular within the range of the national legislation, to be clarified and make accessible by the multilingualness for a larger user circle.
Terms can be found by direct input of the search word [Keyword data base]. The alcohol data base gives a rapid overview of the physical characteristics of the individual (at present 131) alcohols, from methanole to the Vitamin A alcohol.
The Encyclopedia of Alcohol as well as ALEX were developed after a period above 29 years of professional experience in forensic blood alcohol analytics. As addition, the Drug Encyclopedia and/or their German-language version DROGEN-WISSEN were developed. Since June 2002 ALEX is available also in book form (German-language)!
